In case you were wondering, I forgot to give the children the homework instructions last week. So Week 10's homework will now be for this week.
Reading
Read a Good Fit Book or their book from reading group. (We took a break from reading groups last week as we concentrated on learning to Read to a Buddy).
Spelling
We're starting to learn some common spelling patterns. The first one is adding 'er' to words.
For example small/ smaller long/ longer
I suggest avoiding words that end in y as there is an additional rule to teach. For example heavy, heavier. However its fine to use words like big. Just explain that we also double the final letter. eg. big/ bigger.
Mathletics
Keep up with the assigned tasks if you have computer access at home.
Note. Encourage your child to use the ? button if they get a problem wrong. This turns Mathletics from a testing tool to a teaching tool.
