Are you feeling brave? Then come into class and check out Rua's Monster Story Book.
How We Did It
In week 7, we used our incredible imaginations to draw pictures of monsters. Then we wrote about our monsters. Our challenge was to describe our monsters so someone who hadn't seen our picture could draw them. We had to think about what features they had eg. pointy ears, three eyes etc, and also where those features were. We needed to use words like 'beside', 'in the middle', 'on top of'.
We then read our stories to a buddy to see what was missing. We added some extra details and...
...In Week 8, we had a video conference with Toru. Lily and Fletcher from Rua read their descriptions to the children in Toru. Elijah and Hannah from Toru read their descriptions to us. We tried to draw their monsters. We got some things right and some things wrong.
Finally, we made our monster stories and pictures into a book. Come in and read it...if you dare.
